>>834501To better fit in with FEMTO and the Simple10 system, magic does exist in the galaxy of Macross. Some of the most advanced technology used in the game is generated by semi-magical power, and mad scientists with unique prototypes are not an uncommon sight. It is perfectly possible to make a magic based character that refluffs magic-based skills to be technological in nature, such as a character having access to nanomachines that can heal wounds instead of casting a magical spell.

>>834501>>834504Yeah, one example might be my character, a Voldra drone. His abilities are technically "spells," but they function off of the same principles as the technology in use in-universe. However, since his abilities are biological rather than technological, there's an inherent divide in principle; he wouldn't be able to fix a warp-drive using the same method as his own teleportation, because even if he can "feel" something is wrong, he doesn't understand the mechanical make-up of the warp-drive.

The Shields system could use some more love. Maybe having Damage Resistance only apply to health? >>834886It's so, so so so so low end Bullet Hell (aside from the super-duper-very lategame bosses you won't even unlock until you've become good enough that they are not a problem if you have their patterns down.)
So, I personally find it to be a fun game.
Part of the fun for me comes from the fact that, as I said, you ALWAYS get closer to
something. There's hundreds of criteria you can fulfill during a run that get you closer to unlocking more and more fun items as you go. There is also a great sense of achievement in slowly unlocking every character and then filling out their 'post-it note' aka killing every boss in the game with every character.
Then there is the fact that
No two runs are the same™But for real, the fun from that comes from not only just finding and picking up powerful items and seeing what works and what doesn't, but finding out what has a great synergy with something else.
For example, there is an item you unlock that is called Rubber Cement that makes your tears/projectiles bounce from walls. Fun, but not that useful, is it?
Well, with Brimstone, which turns your projectiles into a charged beam of death, your charged beam of death BOUNCES OFF THE WALL like a laser hitting a mirror. Not only that, but Afterbirth also added tons of transformations which mean if you pick up a certain amount of some item (for example, 3 syrenge type pickups) you get to transform into something that gives you powerups.
And aside from that, I just enjoy the whole fucked-up aesthetic.
No.834888
>>834886Once you get the basics down, you can also do a lot of strategizing and stuff.
Do you prefer to have many red heart containers?
Do you prefer to trade those for items and be more vulnerable? Do you like to be a glass cannon? Do you want to take damage on a curse room in the hopes of getting something out of it? Do you use your last bomb to try and find a secret room or keep it for a tinted rock? Do you pass on a devil deal to get an angel deal? Lots and lots of decisionmaking

>>834984Yeah, it wasn't all too effective, though one of the other players did go with a diamond Dog in Power Armor, and all his points invested into increasing her Damage Resistance. If I remember correctly, he managed to get it up to seven points of DR- that's 7 less damage from each enemy attack.
Of course, the Fallout system was specifically designed so that there was a counter to DR- namely, that magic attacks ignore it completely. A fact that the Boss who's only spell was souping up her SMG made very clear.
>>834987>Rhanna "can't keep a secret" Diamond doge>Rhanna "blab about the the super-secret NASA program to everyone"The rest of them might count, but I watched you get shit from WF and the other player's about Rhanna's antics to let that one slide.

From what I've read, it's the autosave system that's to blame; my game must have been unexpectedly closed due to a power outage or something at one point, which causes the game to essentially generate a new file to generate worlds with. However, important assets are left behind in the old file, which leads to Fatal Errors when the game tries to load files that aren't there.

In earlier days wizards may have been prosecuted, but as time went on it became clear that nations couldn't afford to throw away the advantage of having magic users at their disposal. Now many civilized nations have institutes where they educate people who show affinity to magic.
The academy you're going to attend though, is completely independent and seen as a bad school by the magic community. For the most part that means that only social outcasts attend it since it has no tuition fees. The school isn't open to just anyone though, you have to receive an invitation if you wish to enroll.

Dump all your levels into faith and int. I think the best is to go 40/40 each? Also attunement is very important
Get good at dodging. A lot, you'll really need it
If you're feeling confident in your dodging, you can also get the fire clutch ring early in the game to boost your damage, though you'll get hurt a lot more so be careful
If you want to max your damage you can equip the loiyd sword ring along with the swamp and Witch ring. Just have to kee your health at 100% all the time (which is a must really, since most things can oneshot or twoshot you if you build this way)
Like DM said, there's enemies with lots of resistance to fire, so what you want to do is use dark pyromancies for those. Black fire orb is crazy and like regular fire orb, it's also spammable
Seriously, get good at dodging. That and timing your attacks are everything. And if you want to sacrifice some damage for extra casting speed you can use that blue ring that I don't recall the name

But if Hungarian professors can only find work in one school in the entire world despite it being easier than ever in the history of mankind to travel, network and find work around the world, I suppose that speaks volumes about the value of their knowledge :^}
No.835446
>>835444Once again, DM talks outta his ass like there is no tomorrow
CEU has faculty from all over the world.
There are professors who have moved from the USA to Budapest just to teach at CEU because it is in the top 50 universities of the world.
So no, it's not just hungarian professors, it's academics from all over the world who come here to study or teach at a prestigious school that is about to be closed
Once again, you seem to either ignore this or you're just too braindamaged to understand
Is about to be closed because of a law that did not even conceptually exist before last Friday, with no economic or any sort of value, for the sole and singular purpose of building a dictatorship further.
No.835447
>>835446So they will move on to teach elsewhere. One school drops off an arbitrary list, another one takes its place. Hungary slowly collapses and is absorbed into Russia. Lines move on a patch of map for a few decades on one corner of one continent on one planet. Nothing of value is lost in the grand scheme of things.

For NPC empires, I'll remake the gypsies and cancer (Both of which have even more options to be annoying now) as well as some other stuff. I'm thinking about introducing the Glitch as a mechanist race and the Avians as happy space merchants.
